Introduction to the webinterface

Video tutorial

The webinterface is used to interactively explore 'what-if' scenarios, by interacting with data and advanced calculational models. The following screencast provides a step-by-step tutorial on how to create a scenario, calculate the impact of interventions and save the results.

Exercises

Excersises to practise the use of Urban Strategy:

  1. Create a control, closing a road in both directions for cars and freight.
  2. Verify if the control has the expected results with the traffic intensity layer. If not:
  3. Check if the Traffic Assignment model is active
  4. Check fi the correct dimensions are selected
  5. Check if the control is configured correctly, the speed should be set to 0.
  6. Check if the control is activated
  7. Activate the Air and Noise models, and verify the impact of the road closure.
  8. Copy the scenario to save the results.
  9. Return to the scenario where the calculation modules are activated and add a control to the scenario. Select a part of the highway and reduce the speeds to 30 km/h, evaluate results on traffic intensity, air quality, and noise levels.
  10. Compare the active scenario with different reference scenarios to evaluate the impact of the total package of controls, or individual measures.
