Installing tools

Besides the Webinterface, Urban Strategy can be interfaced with desktop tools, which are programs installed on your computer. These programs can be categorised as:

1. Interfacing tools, used to interface core components of Urban Strategy.
2. Command-line tools, used to script or automate actions.
3. Plugins, used to integrate third party applications with Urban Strategy.

What's included

The installment provides access to the following desktop tools:

Store Editor	Main tool for manipulating data in the Urban Strategy store.
MC Control	Tool for controlling models.

Command-line tool	Description
compcol	Compares two collections or matrices. Used by testing tools.
mcmon	Monitors live control message communication between the core system and models.
otmatrixreader	Reads OmniTRANS matrices from raw files into Urban Strategy.
projsize	Reports data size across all projects.
rarchive	Creates a ZIP archive from data sets in Urban Strategy.
uploaderCmd	Copies data between Urban Strategy setups using fingerprints to detect differences. Supports both native and REST API connections.

Plugin	Description
QGIS connector	Facilitates a direct connection between the QGIS interface and Urban Strategy datasets

Software requirements

To run the desktop tools on your computer, the following software is required:

Installment

The Urban Strategy tools are installed using an .EXE file. The .EXE file bundles an .MSI installer together with all required prerequisites for the installed tools.

1. Download the latest version: .EXE file download.

2. From your downloads folder, open the downloaded file to start installing the tools.

3. By default, the tools are located in: C:\Program Files\Scenexus\Urban Strategy\Tools.

Unconfirmed download?

Windows may not start the download and state "An .MSI file isn't commonly downladed". Continue the download by clicking on more options and then Keep. If another warning pops-up, choose Keep anyway to continue the download.
